All I Remember is the Sound

It was a loud crunch, kinda like biting into something a little too hard to chew. I don't remember anything until much later in the evening when medical assistants were picking glass out of my face. I went head first into a windshield, and the paramedics all remarked at how tough I was to not sustain a serious head injury. The windshield lost, shattering completely.

Hi, my name is Patrick, and despite my Irish self resiliency and, frankly, my pride, I sustained a double fracture to my ankle when I didn't see - or was it that I wasnt looking for? - a stop sign running Uber Eats. I was unconscious for several hours and consider it was a blessing I don't remember any of the "lying in a pool of my own blood."

I am currently unable to do anything for income, at a time I was barely getting by on app work. I need all the help I can get, because I sincerely do believe I am in a strong position to bounce back off of this one with attitude will and some spirit. To whit: if I was screwed, I wouldn't bother with the fundraising. But I'm not SOL. I just need all the help I can get to survive the next 3 months intact.

I am estimating my total expenses at around 2k until the cast is set and I can go find a job. haven't had Internet in my home for a year or more, my gas (stove) has been off since last summer and I have no idea how ill pay this phone bill in 10 days. I was SO CLOSE to getting it back together, with pre existing hand shake agreements with a few old friends pending my OLCC permit.

I feel like a guy in the movies who jumped a big gap in the bridge and didn't totally miss but am hanging on my my fingertips. Please help me keep the roof over my head and some heat in my apartment. I've been in trouble before, I am 41 years old and not a stranger to challenge, but.... I'm really scared. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me and my loved ones have told me to express this NOW rather than in a few weeks where my situation could be a lot worse post surgery.
