My name is Erin, I have known Steph and Paul for about 7 years. In March of 2020, Paul was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer. For five years, he has had five surgeries, the maximum amount of radiation, and countless rounds of various, aggressive chemotherapy treatments. Throughout that time, Paul was still walking around the corner to Marge's, where he's has been the well loved bartender for 12 years. The last couple rounds of chemo were so aggressive, it has become nearly impossible for him to walk, talk, or catch his breath. This diagnosis has drained all of their savings in the past two years. His current provider, VanElslander, is running out of treatment options, so they are now waiting on a hopeful call with an appointment at The Cleveland Clinic, which Medicare only partially covers. Unfortunately, we all know how this can take a very fast toll on a families' livelihood. The road ahead for both Steph and Paul is going to be bumpy.
If you know Paul and Steph personally, you know they are two of the most kind, and selfless people on the earth. You also know you won't go more than 35 seconds without laughing til maybe you might cry or pee your pants, or both. These two humans know how to live life the right way and have the most fun. They are the couple everyone wants to be and have been together for over 20 years. These two deserve all the help available to them. This is what we do when we stand by our friends and watch them go through hard times, not knowing how to help. We can help. ❤️
