All Hands for Captain David Kelley

David Kelley is a beloved figure in the Sint Maarten community—a trusted and skilled boat captain for the SV Phoenix, and a lively, fun presence in the maritime world. If you've ever been to Dock Maarten marina, chances are you've seen David sharing laughs with friends at Grumpy's Bar. He's the kind of person who brings people together, whether it's out on the water or around a table, and he's earned the respect and love of everyone who knows him.

Right now, David is facing a tough challenge. As many of you may know from his updates, he's been diagnosed with cancer. He’s just left for Curaçao to receive excellent medical care, where he’ll be for the next two months. After that, he’ll return to Sint Maarten for further procedures and recovery. This means David will be out of work for many months as he prioritizes his health and healing.

Unfortunately, like so many in our community, David’s ability to make a living depends on being healthy and active—and right now, his focus has to be on recovery. In the meantime, his bills, including rent and other expenses, continue to add up. That’s where we can help. David has given so much to our community, and now it’s our turn to give back to him.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will go toward helping David navigate this challenging time without the added stress of financial strain.
