My mother is the most caring, giving, hard working, loving, goofy, beautiful, selfless woman I know. She tries to give the world when really she is the one who deserves it. She became a single parent when my brother and I were very young, and life has not always been easy for her, but she remains happy and strong no matter what life throws at her.

On  May 23rd, my Mom discovered a lump in her right breast. Two days later, she called to schedule an appointment with a doctor and the following day had a visit. The doctor scheduled an appointment for her to have a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy for the following day. Less than a week after discovering the lump, on Friday, May 29th, my amazing mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Despite this devastating diagnoses and the shock of it, my Mom is remaining strong and positive and the process is moving smoothly and quickly. She had surgery on June 4th for a lumpectomy and has been recovering well. They were able to remove the tumor completely, and also removed several lymph nodes to check for spreading. She just had a follow up visit today (15th) to discuss final results and a treatment plan. The doctor is confident that she removed all of the tumor, however she would still like to do radiation treatment. Some of the cancer had spread to one of the lymph nodes that was removed, so, unexpectedly, my Mom will need chemotherapy as well to make sure anything that may have spread further will be killed completely. Her doctor is excellent and positive, and we are happy and fortunate that we were able to get this diagnoses so quickly and to get started on the treatment immediately.

I am starting this GoFundMe because my Mom is not going to be able to work due to the radiation and chemo. Radiation treatment will be every day for 5 weeks, and chemo will start shortly thereafter. She will need help with multiple basic needs, including bills, food and other miscellaneous things, which is what this funding is for. I live with my Mom, and my brother lives above us, so we will be here to help her when needed. Our family has also been incredibly supportive.

We would appreciate any and all help given. Even if you don't have the means to donate, please share this. My Mom would also love messages, phone calls or texts, and to keep her in your thoughts. The next few months are going to be tough, but she is the strongest person there is, so she will make it through! I will update as time goes on. There is also a Facebook Group made for her for updates. If you would like to be added please let me know.

Thank you so much, love you all.
