We've been seeing more kids make a difference in the way we see things, and my 9 year old is no exception. Here is a girl that saw a need for inclusion in her school and knew she needed to take action. It started when a classmate was unable to play on the playground. ♿ She knew that children of all abilities should be able to play together. Eva has taken her plan of an updated, inclusive playground equipment to her schools SAC meeting, made a proposal for the actual changes, and won their support!!
As with most things nowadays, the only thing stopping this from becoming a reality is cost.
Eva has started to combat this hurdle by creating fundraising games at her school festival, met with CFO's at her local businesses, and now is reaching out for additional help.
As we know, inclusive items are unfortunately, very expensive. She has met with a playground equipment company and the final price for the first part of the updated space will be almost $30k. This is why she is reaching out beyond her local area for assistance.
She hopes that by changing 1 playground, it will start the conversation in other school districts for making these changes as well.
If you can please assist her in this endeavor, as well as spreading the word to others who would be instrumental in making this happen, we would greatly appreciate it!
