Good Day Everyone,
Our names are Derrick, Leslie, Caitlin and Kevin Weitzel. Our family operated two construction companies in Inuvik NWT that built many homes and provided many services to the community for over 20 years.
Our father Ross Weitzel, has just begun the fight for his life against Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer.
Here is a summary of what has happened so far:
- CT Scan results show a tumour in the pancreas
- Told there is a 3 week's wait before he can get a biopsy
- Told there are only 2 surgeons in Alberta that can do the surgery which means a longer wait
- Researched that Pancreatic Cancer progresses rapidly
- Travelled to Bangkok for immediate medical tests and treatment
- Within one week, he received bloodwork, CT Scan, Biopsy, Results, and Surgery to fix the artery being squeezed shut from the tumour.
- He will be starting chemo immediately and returning to Canada when they are ready to continue his chemo treatments.
The expenses for travel, accommodations and medical treatments is putting a financial strain on our family. 100% of all donations will go towards medical bills.
Ross is the patriarch of our family. He is so loved beyond words and we are all absolutely devastated and doing our best to stay strong for each other, but especially for him. We are doing everything and anything to ensure he has the best possible fighting chance at beating this horrible disease.
