All American-Rome New Year’s Parade

Hi! My name is Hannah Reubens. This will be my 4th year cheerleading on the San Rafael High School Varsity Competition Team. The past two years we have won consecutive back to back national championships in the Coed Show Cheer division. This has never been done before by a Marin team, or even by any other team in this division. 

This year I will be a senior at San Rafael High School. This summer my team attended a USA cheer camp where I made All-American. This means out of all the cheerleaders from 35 teams at camp, I was one of the few to be selected to tryout. After I  tried out, I was awarded All-American.

I am really proud of my accomplishments because I have worked extremely hard over the last four years to get to my current level. It has never been easy, but this sport is something I am extremely passionate about. Part of being an All-American cheerleader means that I am invited to cheerlead in the New Year’s Day Parade. This year, this organization will be traveling to Rome. This opportunity is so amazing and rare for most cheerleaders to experience. I would love to be one of the very few to attend. It will also help me to further my cheer career beyond high school.  I feel this is an honor, not only for me, but for my coach and teammates. They have helped me grow into who I am today, not only as a cheerleader, but as a person. 

Because I have done all of this myself, like practicing 5 days a week, I also want to be able to support myself through this journey. this includes the cost to go to Rome for this once in a lifetime experience. 
The cost of the trip is $3,500. This includes everything such as my flight, uniform, meals, hotel, transportation, and tourist excursions. Any kind of donation will be greatly appreciated as it will help me reach my dream.

If I reach my goal, and am able to travel to Italy, I will write a daily blog of my experiences which I would love to share with  all of you.
