All Abilities Recess

My name is Melody Day, I am 10 years old and I am a 4th grade student at Heritage Intermediate. The play ground at my school only has equipment for kids who have full use of their bodies. I have spent recesses throughout my time in school in my wheel chair on the blacktop watching others play. It hit me one day that there may be other kids attending my school after me who would be on to this same black top wishing they could play on the equipment with the other kids too. This inspired me to change things for future students. With the support of my school and family, we are working together  to raise funds for the installment of  a wheel chair accessible merry go round for the playground. I believe all students should have every opportunity academically and during recess time to be their best. I appreciate any and all support in adding to the lives and happiness of all students at Heritage Intermediate. Thank you so much!
