Aliyah's Battle with A.L.L.

When you get the news that your child has cancer the life that you once had is all of a sudden turned upside down, flipped backwards, and doing all kinds of twist and turns. Traveling down this path with cancer is no walk in the park. It constantly consumes your everyday thoughts and then those thoughts can easily turn into fears, especially with all the waiting that goes on for certain news that you want to hear or not hear. Going down this road with your child really takes a toll on the body; physically, mentally and sometimes spiritually. Getting to meet other parents going through something similar as your own child is comforting and reassuring on some levels. Recently I've gotten to meet and know the story of a little girl named Aliyah, but before I get to her story you should know about her mother, Susie. Susie is a wonderful and strong mother who I came to know, while staying in the hospital, through a group that she got together to pray for all our kids and the kids in the hospital. She is steadfast in her faith and she knows that whatever may come her and her family's way it is all in the hands of the Lord. She knows that whatever God chooses for her daughter that it is His will and that she may never understand any of why such things are happening with her daughter but it is okay with her because she trust Him with everything that she has.
Aliyah was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) in 2012 at the age of 2 months. Her life had barely begun and now at the age of 8 months she is fighting to survive. She started her first road to recovery but very soon after she relapsed and so she had to start a new path and a stronger treatment to try and get rid of the cancer that was still in her tiny body. Her treatment finished and her parents learned once again that it didn't quiet work, unfortunately her body still shows that there is leukemia present. Yet again Aliyah has started a different path with treatment but this time her family was told that this is the last try. The last try to get rid of Leukemia, the last try to save her life, and if this treatment doesn't work then there isn't any more they can do for her. When Susie was telling me this news it immediately broke my heart, I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what to do. I just said what I could but there was still brokenness in her and rightfully so.

I wanted to ask for a few things. First, if everyone can pray. Pray for a miracle, pray that this last treatment works and that Aliyah's body gets rid of the cancer and that she may continue to blossom, and pray for her family that they may have peace with whatever the outcome may be. Second, I wanted to start this fundraiser for little Aliyah's family because I know first hand all the medical bills that have already came their way and that are coming their way and it can be very overwhelming, and also for anything that they might need to use it for, like food, supplies, or Gas. I ask that you may give anything from cents to dollars. Anything and everything helps, it all adds up! It would be just wonderful to hear that it all worked out, that the doctors saved her from the cancer, that the Lord is allowing her to continue with life. On the other hand, If this doesn't turn out in the favor of Aliyah's family, they are comforted in the fact that one day they will be reunited with their daughter in the presence of the lord.
