My sixteen year old daughter just got her license July 9. She saved up, on her own, $6,000 and bought a car outright, from a dealership, that she had her heart set on. She drove it off the lot yesterday. She’s paying insurance, everything, all on her own.
Before anyone asks, she purchased liability insurance just to be able to drive it off the lot. We were going to discuss collision and the higher insurance payments, etc., and add it after.
SHE DIDN’T EVEN HAVE THIS VEHICLE FOR 24 hours! In fact at the time of this post, it’s been exactly, 25 hours that she’s been a car owner.
She lives on Main Street and was parked outside and went inside the house to take a shower and get ready to take a friend to lunch.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, someone let her know that a white van just drove by with a box spring on its roof and the box spring fell into her car. The VAN KEPT GOING.
This kid literally waited for the day to bring her car home and in a matter of just minutes, someone took that from her. Thank you to the West Warwick police for coming out and checking local cameras. Hopefully they find the culprit.
We are raising money to try to get this fixed for her :(
In the event that the police find this person and we can hold him/her responsible for what they did, the moeny donated will be donated to the West Warwick Animal shelter.
