Hi my name is Alivia Glenn and I am a 10th grade student at Central High School, where I maintain good grades, with Spanish being one of my favorite classes. In addition to my academic pursuits, my dedication has granted me the status of being the number one seed on my schools girl varsity tennis team, as well as a varsity letter in track. I am also a girl scout of two years and I have learned about other cultures and their customs. At home I relish the responsibilities that come with being the oldest sibling with two younger sisters, and find a way to balance my home, school, girl scouts, and athletic schedule with dedication in everything that I do.

As I look towards my future beyond high school, I would love the opportunity to explore an immersive experience in the Spanish language and culture. Having studied the language since middle school, I'm drawn to Spain's culture, music, art and history. On my Pinterest board I always see pictures of Spain and it looks so beautiful, I would love to travel there to see it for myself.

Fortunately, I have been selected to travel and study abroad this summer to Spain as a participant in the Spanish Language and Culture Program. The program is four weeks of learning and  upon completing it I will receive college credits. This trip is an opportunity for me to have a fully immersed experience in Spanish language and culture, while preparing me for the next phase of independence in my life, in preparation for college.
