As I approach my final year at Howard University, I received an email stating I owe $57,514.73 and must get my balance below $2,000 in order for me to register for class, or receive housing. I am currently interning in San Francisco and was greatly looking forward to my first year as a member of Howard University "Showtime" Marching Band. Unfortunately, my family is not in a position to co-sign any loans for me. We have endured the most mentally and emotionally challenging months this year, as we've faced so much gun violence directly affecting us, so receiving notice of this huge balance could not have happened at a worse time. I have truly exhausted all of my options, and I would appreciate anyone willing to pour into me and my journey. Graduating from Howard University is my dream and I have full faith. I fully intend on becoming a first generation college student in my family with your support. Thank you so much in advance.
