Hi Everyone! You all know that I would give, and have given, my last dollar to help an animal or human in need. Well, this time it's me who needs the help. As most of you know, I have been chronically ill since I was 9 years old. I suffer with Achalasia and Gastroparesis. Essentially, both my esophagus and my stomach are paralyzed. I've have many surgeries and procedures, up to and including the surgery I had at the end of November. I had what they call a Roux en Y gastric bypass. So far, I'm doing better and I have high hopes for my future. Earlier this year, I had a J-tube (surgical feeding tube inserted in the small intestine), which ended up getting 5 different, life threatening infections. I was sent home on IV antibiotics with a PICC line. Just ONE of these antibiotics, ERDEPENEM, cost me almost $6,000 OUT OF POCKET!!! I was also in the hospital for almost 6 months. You can imagine that bill...
And then there's all of those pesky everyday expenses, like having to treat and then ultimately euthanize 2 of my cats this year. And the $3,000+ that I've had to invest in my car!! My only source of income is Social security Disability.
