Save the Babies - Year 1

Last fall, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. My prognosis is good, but treatment would affect my fertility. My eggs would be sterile.
I took the first opportunity to preserve my fertility by harvesting and freezing my eggs. Sticking needles into myself for pleasure isn't really my thing....so this whole process was challenging. But, I did it!! On December 11, 2019 twenty-two mature eggs were delicately removed from my ovaries; 21 of them were able to be preserved.
After the hormones, and the harvest, and the freezing is the storage. There is a yearly fee to keep the eggs frozen.
The first part was $5200. The yearly storage is $1200 (though I'm shopping around). That's where I got the total of $6400.
The money I raised when I launched this campaign has been applied to my bill. I currently owe just $848 left on the procedure. Whatever I raise this time around will be applied to that balance and then put towards the yearly storage fee.
I will work on figuring out a way to secure the funds for this purpose. This is only the beginning of my journey down a road I never thought I'd be on, the IVF road.
My chemotherapy treatments is scheduled to last from February 13th - Late July 2020. I will have interim PET scans every 2 months to see how well the chemo is working. During this time, my ability to work will be limited. The IVF clinic has been incredibly supportive and understanding of my situation. While there is not a time frame set on this balance, having one less debt to pay while I dump my cancer would greatly contribute to lowering my stress level and increasing my ability to relax.
Thank you.
Alison -- and Runa!
P.S. Runa has recovered so well from her surgery this summer! She is full of so much more energy and she snuggles twice as much <3 Thank you for the donations.
