As many of you know our good friend and colleague has recently passed after her strong fight against stomach cancer.

Alison began her midwifery training at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in 1998, where she qualified as an E grade midwife in 2001. Over the years Alison has worked with varying members of the multi disciplinary team who can all vouch that she was an asset to the team. Alison was a highly respected member amongst the midwifery staff.  She was always providing support for others as well as entertainment along the way.
She provided safe and holistic care and the women of Gateshead always felt safe in her hands. Alison worked in both the community and the hospital setting. More recently she was our risk management midwife and was about to embark upon her cooordinating role as a band 7.
Although we do not know if Alison's family have a chosen charity in mind, a small donation would be greatly appreciated to show Shaun, Callum, Lucy and Joe as well as her beautiful Grandson Johnny how much she was loved by us all xx
