Hi, my name is Martin and on 28th January 2024, my wife Alison prematurely lost her life to bowel cancer. She was just 55 yrs old.
Throughout our married life, Alison developed a very strong connection to Catton Park, a beautiful 70 acre open space near our home. Apart from it's natural beauty, Catton Park provided Alison (and others) opportunities to exercise, socialise, walk our dogs and make numerous friends. And during the last 16 months of her life, when Alison was ill and knew her life would end prematurely, she drew an enormous amount of enjoyment and support from Catton Park and the many lovely people who frequented there.
Since Alison's death, several park users have suggested installing a bench there and/or planting a tree in Alisons memory, a thought my family and I wholeheartedly support. It would make a fitting tribute to a truly wonderful and popular lady and provide a place for people to sit and enjoy a chat or the lovely park views.
The Catton Park Trust have confirmed that a bench can be supplied and installed at a cost of around £500.00. Any money raised in excess of that would be put towards planting one or more trees to enhance the landscape that gave Alison so much pleasure.
Please give generously if you can.
