Help Alison after major surgery

My name is Hannah and I'm asking for some help with my mom's bills for the next 2-3 months.

My mom, Alison Stagg-Harr was in a serious rollover accident on May 31st. She was hospitalized for 10 days following the accident. She suffered multiple broken bones including her spine, ribs and sternum. She also sustained a traumatic brain injury. Her injuries left her unable to work for now but we are hoping for the best.

During all of this mess, we have now discovered she has a blockage in her colon due to possible cancerous polyps. She is having a double colon resection to remove part of her colon August 21st. This will leave her in the hospital for another 6-10 days and on bedrest for roughly 4-10 weeks.

I had to stop working to help my mom after her accident in May, leaving both of us without any income. We have made it work so far, with a lot of help, but are now left with no other choice but to ask for assistance.

We are just asking for help for the next few months so she has a roof over her head to heal after major surgery. She has applied for disability and Section 8 housing; unfortunately, those can take months to process and be approved. We have also asked The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) for some financial help with rent and they refused. My mom didn't want me to make this page. She wanted to keep this as private as possible, but without some help, and the possibility of not being able to pay rent, privacy will have to be forfeited.

If you know my mom you know how vibrant and amazing she is. She was an educator, mostly teaching kindergarten, for almost 25 years. Many of you may have known her as Mrs.Pratt or Mrs Harr. She is amazing with children and early child development. Before the accident, she was working with homebound elderly and tutoring online. Most of my friends know her as Momma Alison. She welcomes them with a smile, great conversation and usually a tasty snack or beverage. It's hard to express in words how amazing she is! She is my best friend and watching her go through this has been really hard. She has been through so much and deserves some peace.

I wish we had social programs to help with emergency situations like this, but there are holes in our system.

This money will be used to pay her medical expenses, assist in rent, car payments, phone bill, and utilities. This will also cover medicine that is not covered by her insurance. It all adds up super fast.
