My name is Alisa Gavin and I am starting a GoFundMe to help restore functional teeth in my mouth. I have struggled with mental illness, eating disorders, and addictions most of my life and am finally in a stable place in my life. Unfortunately, years of abuse and neglect to my teeth have left them beyond repair. I started my dental restoration journey 7 years ago and it has been physically and emotionally painful and exhausting. Never ending hours in the dentist chair, teeth being removed one after the other as they fail, one by one, each one more disheartening than the last. Currently I have no molars which means I lack the ability to chew my food properly which makes getting proper nutrition difficult. Moving forward, the best possible options are either implant supported dentures, which are $20,000, or full mouth implant bridges, which are $40,000. Yes, I know this sounds crazy and extravagant. The numbers blow my mind too. We have researched and done comparisons and these figures are consistent across the board for permanent dental appliances. And these are the most sustainable options as I already have implant posts surgically placed on my upper jaw. I have found an amazing team of dental professionals in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and feel confident in moving forward with them.

I truly want to thank anyone reading this message. This is NOT about looking pretty or having whiter teeth. This is about having a functional mouth and being able to intake the foods necessary for proper nourishment.

Before becoming a believer in Christ, I thought I was purposeless, a waste of a life. But everything changed when I met God in 2018 and have developed and forged a relationship with my creator. I now know that I do have worth and something unique and special to contribute to this world.
