My name is Mark, and I couldn’t be prouder to share that my daughter, Alisa, has been invited to represent Canada at the Junior World Judo Championships this October in Lima, Peru. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and an important step towards her dream of competing at the highest level of our sport, as all of her previous national and international competitions have led to this.
Judo has been a part of our family for years. I am a black belt and help coach at the club where Alisa and her brother, a brown belt, train alongside each other. We have spent countless hours together on the mats, learning, pushing, and supporting each other as a family. Seeing Alisa reach this level fills us all with pride beyond words.
Unfortunately, competing at this level comes with significant costs. Flights, accommodations, and tournament fees add up quickly. We are asking for help to make sure that Alisa can travel and compete, representing both her country as a member of Team Canada and the values we have built as a family.
Any support, big or small, will make a difference. From Alisa, our family, and our club, thank you for helping us make Alisa’s dream possible.
