Sadly, most of us have been touched by cancer in some form or another. Not only does the disease and treatment affect the body, but also the spirit of the patient. Chemotherapy and radiation can have just as much of an emotional impact as the physical.

On June 30, 2018, my dear cousin Ali lost his battle to cancer. Ali was only 37 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer less than 3 years prior to his passing. One of the last things Ali told me, was that if he was able to fight his cancer and survive, that he was going to give a portion of his earnings back to the community on a regular basis. Watching kids battle this illness was one of the hardest things for Ali to watch and it broke his heart seeing kids go through what he was enduring.

I want to honor Ali’s wishes and help lift the spirits of children affected by cancer. I will be putting together chemo care packages for children undergoing cancer treatments at local hospitals. I will be collecting funds to put together these care packages. This will include items such as stuffed animals, toiletries, blankets, socks and craft supplies.

My goal is to get 100 of these care packages out to chemo patients at area hospitals. It would mean the world to me if you could help deliver smiles to these young patients. Thank you everyone for your support!
