Alire Family's Long Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Alisha Alire and I am the proud daughter of Fred (Federico) Alire. Fred is a lifetime dogpatcher and known all around for his Chicano pride. His journey in this lifetime has been wrought with challenges that he has always bravely overcome with his hard work and sacrifice. He loves his children, his community, and making forever homes for the people of Pueblo. My dad is the hardest working man I've ever known. It fills us with great sadness to see him in this condition.

On Monday, January 8th, Fred was admitted to the hospital with shortness of breath. No one could've expected the prognosis of congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and excessive fluid buildup on his lungs. His stay was further complicated by a heart attack and the discovery that both valves of his heart would need to be replaced/repaired. Like every other circumstance in his life, Fred put on a brave face and decided he is up for the challenge of open heart surgery and the long road to recovery.

As you can imagine, this unexpected life event has put a severe financial strain on us, his children, who would do anything to be by his side. Fred is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in Denver, Colorado. Us Alire kids have had to halt work and other responsibilities to prioritize our dad's care. We will continue to honor our dad's wishes by fighting to get him the care he needs but we cannot do that without the kindness and generosity of those that love this crazy, stubborn man, and his children.

We thank you in advance for sharing and donating to help us, help him.
