Rossies! If you ever engaged in philosophical banter with Alimo, took a shot of his moonshine or had sought refuge from the craziness of Timothy Beach, please consider helping him as he's going thru some tough times. Despite rumors that he was deceased, I managed to find him tucked away at JNF hospital. He hadn't set foot outside in over two years and gets very few visitors. He has no immediate family on the island and the hospital hardly provides anything. In fact, when I visited him, he came pushing himself
out in a wheelchair (his entire left leg is
amputated) in nothing but boxer shorts. Last week he was moved to a government funded
nursing home, considered by locals to be a step down in care & comfort. I've reached out to a senior care service and will set up for a nurse to check on him a few times a week. If you can find it in your heart to contribute, please do. I'm sure none of us would ever want to be found in his situation without anyone to lean in.
