Ali's Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Alison was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year. She caught it early and, thankfully, her prognosis is very good. But she’s already undergone a mastectomy and is set to begin chemo at the end of March. It has been, and will continue to be, a long, difficult journey.

In the coming weeks, Alison will lose her beautiful hair, among other terrible side effects of treatment. She picked out a wig that she likes at a place her oncologist recommended, but her insurance will only allow her to go to what you might call a Walmart-quality wig store. Cancer is bad enough. Wearing a bad wig for six months just makes it worse, especially for someone who loves a little glamour.

And yet, cruelly, cancer is also terribly expensive. To put things in perspective, a decent wig often starts at $450. Additionally, Ali has to travel to Boston frequently for doctor appointments. While she fights this battle, she's shouldering the cost of co-pays, ferries, hotel stays, and all sorts of incidentals. Plus, she'll be on a restricted work schedule for quite a while.

Many of you have asked what you can do to help, or have expressed a willingness to contribute funds. My hope is that this page will make it easier to do so. If you’re willing and able to lighten your wallet just a little bit, we can combine our efforts to help out Ali in a very big way.

Thank you so much. <3
