Help Me Make My Dream of Studying Abroad a Reality
Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
I’m reaching out with so much hope in my heart because I’ve been given an incredible opportunity, I’ve been accepted into a study abroad program for next semester!
For me, this isn’t just about traveling. It’s about stepping outside of my comfort zone, experiencing the world, and discovering who I can become when I push myself beyond what I’ve always known. It’s about growth, both personally and academically, and the chance to see life through an entirely new lens.
I’m one of nine kids, and growing up in a big family has shaped everything about who I am. It taught me how to share, how to listen, and how to fight for the things that matter. It taught me that love, faith, and determination can carry you farther than anything else.
I’ve been surrounded by people who poured belief into me, my family, my teachers, my mentors, my friends. They’ve reminded me, time and time again, that hard work and heart can take you places talent alone never could. I’ve always believed in the person I could become, but their encouragement gave that belief wings. They helped me see that my dreams weren’t too big, they were possible, and worth fighting for.
Now, I want to be that same light for my younger siblings, to show them that no matter how uncertain life feels, hard work and heart can open doors you never dreamed possible. I want them to look at me and know that it’s okay to dream big, to chase it, and to never give up.
This study abroad program means everything to me. It’s a chance to grow, to learn, and to bring back the lessons and confidence that will shape the rest of my life. But as much as I’ve worked to make this happen, I can’t take this step alone.
The costs of tuition and round-trip flights are more than I can manage on my own, and that’s why I’m asking for help. Every single dollar, every share, every word of encouragement brings me closer to this dream to walking through a new city, learning from new cultures, and coming home stronger and wiser.
If you can give, I can’t thank you enough. And if you can’t, sharing this means the world to me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me for helping me show my brothers and sisters that with perseverance, kindness, and courage, dreams don’t just stay dreams they become reality.
With love and gratitude,
Alijah
