Alienjenn- medical and recovery

I am a travelling nurse, and was on assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The altitude there aggrivated my chronic lung condition (I have alpha-1 anti-trypsin deficiency) and sent me to the hospital, where I was in the PCU for 8 days. I needed to use the bipap at night and oxygen durring the day to be able to breathe. 

The doctors there recommended returning to a lower altitude as the only way to recover. I am currently staying with my friend in Arkansas to recover some before I drive home to Virginia. 

I have contacted my recruiter to start discussing going back to work. I am still very weak after spending 8 days in the hospital. I am hoping that I can go back to work in about two weeks. I need to be able to pay my rent,  telephone, and COBRA insurance. I have to follow up with my pulmonologist in Virginia and my primary care physician and get cleared to go back to work. 

I haven't even gotten any of the bills from the hosptial yet. I actually have two separate ER visits and the 8 day stay that I am worried about. 

This illness in and of itself has been a very nerve wracking experience. Adding in having to get Chris (my son) and I out of New Mexico with only a little (a lot) of help from my NM friend Terra (who was INCREDIBLY AWESOME btw) and then worrying about the money to get home and then back to an assignment is sending me to the limit. I don't like to put my hand out and ask for help but I need it guys. I know that I am truly blessed with the best friends and family on the planet and I truly appreciate all of you.
