About a week ago Alicia started losing a considerable amount of vision in her left eye. After seeing a few different doctors this past week she was found to have a detached retina that will need an emergency surgery to reattach it. She doesn’t have health insurance and has tried enlisting the help of ahcccs which was denied, so she has to pay everything out of pocket. She has received an estimate of $4,000 which does not include any medications or post-op checkups. This is hindering her work and recovery will put her out for at least two more week possibly to a month.
