Alicia Rathmann with medical expenses

Please find it in your hearts to donate to this amazing woman. She is still in desperate need of funds to continue her treatment which is not covered by insurance. My name is Lisa and I am fund raising for a member of my endurance riding family. Alicia Rathmann has a rare form of cancer and is in need of financial help for medical expenses not covered by insurance. Her Caring Bridge story is below.

As many of you are aware, I am currently battling essential thrombocythemia CALR mutation, a rare blood and bone marrow cancer caused by a genetic mutation coupled with a rare blood disorder that complicates the treatment process. I am blessed to have such a supportive and loving community that reaches out to me often. However, I have found it challenging to respond to so many of you individually. It was suggested to me that I start a CaringBridge page to keep family and friends updated more frequently and comprehensively.

In November of 2023, I chose to discontinue traditional therapies and treatments. The side effects of traditional treatment were becoming far too grueling for me physically and emotionally. Since then, I have begun homeopathic treatment in Mankato, MN. The doctors who are treating me now are wonderful and I feel very hopeful that this treatment plan is the optimal choice for me moving forward.

The new cancer fight plan consists of 14 weeks of aggressive treatment. During these 14 weeks, I will visit the Mankato clinic weekly or twice weekly as they administer the treatment. After that, we will reassess labs and either move forward with another round of aggressive treatment or

begin the lifelong maintenance phases. As the cancer that I have is not curable.

Our greatest need right now is prayer. This entire process has been very taxing on our family, and I believe and know that the Lord is walking beside us through it. As of right now, this is the last known mode of treatment available for me. This is my last hope. There are days when we all feel very hopeful, and there are also days when it can be hard to have hope and depression sets in. Therefore, we would be eternally grateful if you could support us and lift our family in prayer. Our next most significant need is to have our financial obligations met. Because of the

nature of this chosen treatment plan, medical insurance no longer covers treatment expenses. We also need a reliable vehicle for me to drive to and from the clinic.

We are already seeing the Lord provide for us in miraculous ways. I have been well enough for the most part to keep working part-time, my current job allows me to make up days if I miss, so this is a huge help, which is a blessing. Please pray that God continues to provide for us.

Jon and I are so thankful for everyone who has come alongside us and supported us thus far. It lifts our spirits and makes us feel loved and seen every time you reach out to us, pray for us, and love on our kids. We are very grateful for our friends and family.
