Hi everyone, I'm posting this with permission from my Sister- in-Law, Alicia Maguire, who was in a terrible Car Accident on April 11th. Our hope is to help raise some funds for her & the family during her recovery time. She recently found out that her job is not paying for the time she has to take off work due to not being there long enough. Which means she also won't qualify for short term disability. So at this time she doesn't know when she will be able to go back to work. Her next follow up is on the 13th to re-evaluate her arm post surgery, but that is not a guarantee she will be released to go back to work. Things are a bit up in the air as my brother was staying home with their 4 small children.
As this wasn't her fault, insurance is covering a car rental but only up until May 5th, at which point they will have to continue to cover the costs until a settlement is reached overall.
Funds collected here will go directly to Alicia & will help cover the cost of bills, living expenses, car rental, etc. Thank you everyone for your support as every little bit helps.
A few Words from Alicia:
Hello, my name is Alicia Maguire and I am a Correctional Officer for Westville Prison and this is my story from Friday, April 11th. Friday morning I woke up just like I do any other morning took a shower was getting ready for work, I left my home, drove to the gas station grabbed a couple energy drinks cuz God did I need them because I was supposed to test out that day. Well Friday didn't prepare me for this. Friday morning I should have lost my life, I should have died in my car Friday morning due to a semi cutting me off, according to the reports, and running over my car. I don't know how I don't know why but everything was blacked out for me. The entire incident was blacked out from start to finish until I woke up in ICU at memorial hospital with my husband Joe Maguire sitting by my bedside and my brother-in-law Dan Maguire standing at the foot of my bed. I didn't remember anything I suffered from memory loss and lost so much, I suffered from a broken right collarbone, a dislocated left sternum, and a punctured spleen. And for some reason by the grace of God he let me live through it. I don't know why but I'm still here, I am hurting so much but I am still here and still fighting everyday.
Thanks again everyone!
