In November 2016 after months of extreme fatigue and after losing a very noticeable amount of weight, Alicia went to her doctor which ordered a test and they found that she was very anemic. In February of 2017, after a couple of months of treatments her hemoglobin dropped dangerously low to 4.7 and she was placed in the hospital a few days for blood transfusions among other treatments. During the course of 2017, she was admitted to the hospital several different times for the same issue. Finally in September of 2017, Alicia was diagnosed with Stage 5 (End stage) Kidney disease with only 8% Kidney Function. She had to begin in-home dialysis immediately. At this point, Alicia was advised by her doctors that due to the rapid decline in her health that she could no longer work a full time job. After a little over a year of in-home dialysis, Alicia’s health has continued to decline.
On Saturday December 8th, 2018, Alicia suffered a Heart Attack and was found to have two blockages with only 35% function of her heart. She was then diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Along with the Heart Attack, a large amount of fluid was found on her lungs as well. She spent 8 days in ICU as a result and during this time she received a Heart Cath.
This all has led to the following. Alicia has been advised by her doctors that she is in desperate need of a Kidney Transplant as soon as possible. Currently family, friends, and church members of Revivify Church are stepping forward to be tested to see if they are a match for Alicia. Alicia is registered with the National Kidney Foundation and they advised us to set up an account to help us with excessive medical bills and expenses that her insurance doesn’t cover during Kidney Transplant. The current cost of a Kidney transplant is between $400,000-$500,000. So with that information they have asked that the Burdette's to raise at least $10k to cover those expenses outside of insurance coverage.
We ask you to prayerfully considered what the Lord would lead you to do in donating to help us meet this goal. The need is urgent as they must be ready to act at a moments notice when the foundation calls for transplant.
We are believing for a miracle and asking the Lord to heal Alicia so that none of this is necessary. But until such time as he does, we ask you to join us in prayer and donations so we can confidently move forward as the doctors direct the Burdette's.
