Alicia and Juniper's Journey After Loss
Donation protected
We are Alicia’s colleagues and we are appealing to you on behalf of Alicia Plumer, who lost her husband, Brad Reed, to a long time battle with lung disease. Alicia is an independent, brave, and strong woman whose laughter can be heard at every meeting. She is always very helpful and has an open-door policy. Her professional persona does not reflect the pain and difficulties at home.
Brad struggled with lung and respiratory illnesses for many years and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. He was hospitalized multiple times throughout his life. Despite all efforts, support and love, he succumbed to his disease on 2/15/25 with Alicia and their 9 year old daughter, Juniper, by his side.
Bronchiectasis is a chronic and progressive lung condition characterized by permanent widening and inflammation of the airways (bronchi) in the lungs. This leads to an accumulation of mucus and recurrent infections. Brad endured pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to Levaquin and MRSA. Two weeks prior to his death, he was in hospice care after doctors exhausted all treatment options available. This ultimately led to his death from respiratory failure.
Alicia and Juniper were with him for all the ups and downs of his battle with the disease. Over the last few years, Juniper has watched her father courageously fight off each episode. No matter how sick he was she would find her way to be near him. Despite the many trips to and from the hospital, he would always return and be with her. Given his limited mobility, Brad and Juniper bond through their love of video games and watching movies and TV shows together.
Going forward without Brad, life will have new and ongoing challenges for both Alicia and her daughter. The medical cost she faces for Brad's treatment are overwhelming. Please consider donating to Alicia’s GoFundMe campaign to help ease this financial burden. Every contribution matters, and if you can’t donate, sharing this message would mean a lot. Let’s come together to honor Brad’s memory and support Alicia and Juniper during this trying time.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
