Alice's Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

My name is Alice Victoria Makasewicz.

I am 21 months old. I was born with trisomy 21, known as Down Syndrome.
I am a bubbly, smiling and full of energy little girl. I am an individualist – so I am being told.
I develop well for a baby with birth defects; at the moment, I can only stand up with support but I crawl really fast especially when something catches my attention. I am very curious of people and the world around me. I am always active even when I sleep – so my parents say.
My parents are so loving. They do everything they can helping me function in life. They are planning our trip to Warsaw, to the clinic called VIMED where I will undergo a hyperbaric oxygen therapy .
Yes, I know it sounds smart and you may be asking what’s it all about. I will quickly explain what this treatment involves then.

The oxygen therapy uses oxygen at high pressure in hyperbaric chamber, it provides the patient with extra oxygen. The scientific research proves that hyperbaric oxygen therapy results in many positive developments, such as physical, biochemical and physiological changes.
That is why my parents and myself are collecting money for this therapy. Its effects may be astonishing, it can give me a chance to develop better and faster.

The cost of this therapy is PLN 7,000 (GBP 1,500),
it consists of 20 sessions daily for 2 hours.

I believe it is worth trying, because the opportunity to develop and exceed once boundaries is the sense of our life.
