Alice's Avastin pot
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Alice. I'm 42 years old and mum to my seven year old son. In October 2021, the day after my birthday I ended up in hospital. Two weeks later, I was informed that it was bowel cancer. I was grateful that they got the cancer and when I went to see the oncologist, we found that it had metastasised to the liver. I started my chemotherapy and when it was finished, the tumours in my liver had gone. I started to enjoy life again, taking trips with my son and he was so happy to tell me that he was pleased I was back to normal.
Sadly, my blood markers never went down and now in June 2022, a few weeks before my son's birthday I found out that there were multiple tumours. I've been very grateful to have been treated so well on the NHS but they don't fund the drug, bevazicumab (Avastin). Because of this, I have to pay privately to have it included in my chemotherapy.
The costs are eye watering, so I'm asking for your help. To keep me alive so I can have one more birthday, so my son can celebrate one more birthday with his mum.
