Help Alice get to the YYGS Program

Hello,
My name is Alice Obas and I am a junior at West Haven High School. I am very active in the academics, arts and athletics at West Haven High. I am currently at the top of my class and am a member of the National Honors Society. I have participated and hope to continue to participate in the various musicals and plays of the West Haven High School Theater Workshop, such as Willy Wonka, Little Shop of Horrors, and It's A Wonderful Life. I was also selected into the top choir group at the high school, Bel Canto. In sophomore year, I joined the tennis team and hope to continue to be part of this team until I graduate. Lastly, I am the President of the Grass Roots Action Club of West Haven High School and I am a student representative on the West Haven Board of Education.
For many years now, I have wanted to participate in various summer enrichment programs but have always been restricted from doing so because of the expense. Several months ago, I became aware of the Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS), which unites young students from around the world on the Yale University campus for fourteen days to learn about topics such as Grand Strategies, and Politics, Law, and Economics. This program not only allows students from all over the world to build friendships with other students having the same interests as them, but also allows for an exploration of a stimulating intellectual topic.
I applied for the program, specifically for the Politics, Law and Economics session, and was selected, along with 200 other global students, out of a highly competitive application pool. I received the acceptance email on Monday March 31st, 2014, along with my welcome packet. When I applied for the program, I also applied for financial aid. However, because of the high demand of financial aid and the limited amount available, I received a fractioned scholarship of the tuition in the amount of $2,000. I am to pay the remaining $3,000 out of pocket with a necessary deposit of $2,000 by April 15th, 2014.
I would like very much to attend this program at Yale University because it would allow me to gain a global perspective of the ins and outs of politics and law, in which I consider pursuing a career. This program is the rigorous and enriching program I need to better myself, and in turn my community.
I ask that you please help me so that I will be able to attend this program from July 7, 2014 to July 20, 2014. Every dollar counts, so please donate.
