"There's Something About Alice" - The Documentary

Donation protected
Hello to all of our Lewis Carroll friends,
As many of you know, we have been working on our recently completed documentary, "There's Something About Alice" for the past ten years. In that time, we interviewed over 50 individuals about Alice in popular culture - scholars, collectors, translators, illustrators and performing artists - and have hundreds of hours of footage. We are raising money in order to complete this passion project so it can be made available to the public. In addition, we do not want to leave outtakes from the film permanently on the cutting room floor. Above and beyond clearing rights for footage used in the film, we hope to use some of the funds we raise to edit important clips from each of the interviews and to create a webpage that could serve as an essential and extensive resource for research and entertainment. Our end goal is $7500 Canadian dollars (only $5500 USD, $4500 Pound Sterling, $5300 Euros!!).

From Morton Cohen to Graham Arnold, Mark Burstein, Edward Wakeling, Franziska Kohlt, Kiera Vaclivik and Charlie Lovett (to name just a few!) ... there are so many fascinating and scholarly interviews that we weren't able to fully feature in the film. For example, our film only contains a few minutes with the late Professor Cohen but we have an hour-long interview with him that covers a great range of Alice and Lewis Carroll-related topics. Rather than simply posting a long interview we will select, edit and categorize key clips from each interview - to make the site easily accessible and simple to navigate.

We hope you will consider supporting this important project. Donations of any amount will be gratefully received and will help us reach our goal. May we also invite you to consider one of these special levels of support: For a donation of $100 or above, you will receive a limited edition, hand-printed 11 x 15-inch illustration from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by renowned artist Harry Furniss, printed on Arches Velin rag paper by printmakers George Walker and Andy Malcolm (Cheshire Cat Press). For a $500 donation, in addition to a print, you will receive a signed copy of our new, in-progress 300-page coffee table book, There’s Something About Alice, to be published in early 2024 by Firefly Books.
Thank you in advance for supporting our project!
Best, Andy Malcolm and Wendy Rowland
