2024 Tokyo Marathon in honor of Ukrainian heritage

I am excited to share that I have been selected to run the 2024 Tokyo Marathon as a charity runner for CARE International Japan, specifically supporting humanitarian aid for the vulnerable people of Ukraine.

For those who may not know, my entire family is from Kiev, Ukraine and had the good fortune and opportunity to immigrate to the United States in 1979 (just two months prior to my birth) and start a new, safe and prosperous life.

Running the 2024 Tokyo Marathon for Care International is a way of honoring my heritage and giving back.

With everything happening in the world, it is my honor to run for a charity that is helping with Ukraine relief and support efforts, especially for women and children.

The Tokyo marathon will also be #5 in my quest to complete all six of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

To be eligible for the race, I pledged to raise $3,000.

Unlike most other races, the Tokyo marathon requires that all charity runner donations are made in advance - by July 28, 2023 - in a single payment by the runner. There’s no official donation link to share or tax receipt. Any donations need to be submitted to me personally and I will make the payment by the 28th.

I appreciate any donation AND am most grateful for the outpouring of support I have continuously received over the past ten years of my running journey.
