Alice & Renato Arce - Funeral Expenses

Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday August 5 2025 at 2:00 pm at St. Edward's Church located at 836 Arlington St, Wpg Mb. Interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial.

Hi, I am Irene Vigfusson, daughter of Alice & Renato Arce. I came home to Winnipeg last May while Dad was in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital so I could help out with Mom at home. As the days progressed Dad's condition didn't change in the way we had hoped. At the same time, Mom was admitted to St. Boniface as well with Congestive Heart Failure. Dad was on the 8th Floor while Mom was in ICU fighting for her life. The Dr's did not expect her to survive the trauma her heart had been through. My Brother, Lito, and I decided to start the process of making funeral arrangements for both Mom and Dad--not entirely sure these plans would become reality.

After about 1 1/2 weeks in ICU Mom amazingly pulled through and was able to be moved up to the 8th Floor where she could continue her recovery alongside Dad. They were moved into the same room where they could be together again. In the time Mom was in ICU, Dad's health rapidly declined. After only 1 night together we lost Dad on May 18/25. It was a truly heartbreaking event to witness.

Fast forward to Monday July 21/25 Mom suffered another cardiac event. I was holding her while she was having the attack and knew I was losing her. It was a gut wrenching thing to have experienced and I do not wish that kind

of pain on anyone.

Arrangements have been made for Mom's Lamay and Funeral services. However, given that we are still paying off the balance of Dad's funeral services Lito and I are now facing the financial hardship of having to add on the costs for Mom.

I have seen what the power of asking for help through Go Fund Me has done for many and am reaching out to you for your help. All funds raised here will go directly to our outstanding funeral costs.
