Alice Needs Your Help for Medical Costs

- As most of you know, Alice has spent 5 months in facilities, first from leg nerve damage to her right leg. She worked very hard at physical therapy and was able to get around pretty well. She was home for 2 days and my chronic UTIs flared up, and she was losing strength and showing signs of confusion, which can lead to sepsis. Cliff did not feel he could get her to the van safely. We called for an EMT to take her to the ER. One EMT was very rude and adamant that I walk to the stretcher. As I stepped up the little step, both legs gave out. The EMT allowed me to fall hard enough to break my femur on my knee. Her Medicare skilled nursing runs out on August 28th. She has 6 plus medical appointments and dearly would love a social day. Wheelchair van rental is $145.00 a day, which we just don’t have.
So many of you have helped us so much, and we ask humbly. We just need help. Our prayer is to be mobile again by late September. At this point, the orthopedic doctor doesn't even want her to bend her knee to get in and out of our van for 4 to 6 weeks. They sure do not want long-term knee issues.
