My name is Daphne Nicolson, and I am the niece and family representative for Alice Chingee.
We are raising funds to support a Cadaver Team to help find the rest of Alice Chingee's remains. This team specializes in human remains search and recovery.
The Cadaver team is Canadian Canine Search Corps (CCSC).
Alice was last seen in McLeod Lake in the evening of July 15, 2024 at approximately 7pm,
A number of individuals provided statements to the RCMP that late on the same night around 11-12 pm, Alice was at a house alongside highway 97.
Alice was not seen again.
Alice was officially reported Missing on July 18, 2024.
Alice's family, community, RCMP and the Mackenzie SAR conducted a number of ground, water and air searches. These were not successful.
Although the family vehemently disagreed and challenged the suggestion from the RCMP that they had confirmed her last known sighting as south of Quesnel, the RCMP changed course/location and cancelled planned searches in the McLeod Lake area.
Alice had no cell phone.
Alice's last bank card transaction was not her, someone tried to access her account. The RCMP have this info.
Limited remains were later discovered by a hunter, close to McLeod Lake.
This area is not easily accessible, is in a cut block, across a river, and not an area a 62 year old woman with complex health needs would venture to.
Alice's bank card was also found in the vicinity of her limited remains.
There are many questions left unanswered, and the family believes that finding the rest of her remains will answer these questions and provide closure to her children, grandchildren, her family, her friends and her community.
Alice was a beautiful woman, she was funny, kind, witty and is loved and missed.
