Today February 25th, 2021 our wonderful boy Ali Al Ghaithi (age 17)  passed away when the car he was in rolled over on the Saw Mill River Parkway by Exit 4 going towards Yonkers. Ali  was ejected from the car and died instantly.  His best friend, Abdlwahab (Abdul) Abushaar (age 17) also died in this crash, and his two other close friends (ages 18 and 15) are currently hospitalized in intensive care.    
Ali's death is a devastating tragedy for us - his mother, older brother, 3 sisters, and his uncles.  We had been raising Ali with so much love, especially since his father died several years ago.  Ali was a veryfriendly, intelligent, super funny boy with a lot of energy who loved soccer and wrestling, he loved making jokes to make his friends and teachers laugh, he loved to eat, and most of all, he loved his family.    Ali was looking forward to graduating in a few months this June 2021 from the HS for Health Careers and Sciences in Manhattan.  He was on the school soccer team and wrestling team, and wanted to pursue a career in sports and business. 
We will be having a prayer service followed by the burial for Ali and his best friend Abdlwahab on  Saturday 2/27/21 at approximately 1:00 pm depending when the bodies are released from the hospital. 

Many people have asked where they can donate to help our family with the burial and other expenses, so we created this page.  Anything you can contribute will help during this difficult time. 
No parent or family should ever have to bury their 17 year old children... we hope none of you ever have to go through this.  May God be with Ali and Abdlwahab forever.
