Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking time to read about my father Alfredo Ordonez. Over the last couple months my father has had a variety of health complications that seemed to be random with no reason why. For instance, he has lost 30 pounds in just 3 months, sudden fatigue, irregular skin rashes, enlarged lymph nodes, and consistent abdomen pains without making any alterations in lifestyle. After having a week with sever abdomen pains and cramps, he was admitted into the hospital for four days and discharged once he was stable. He was then referred to Mayo Clinic which is one of the Nation’s top hospitals for cancer. It was there that we were told that he has Lymphoma Cancer and that’s when the doctor verified that his sudden changes in health were not random at all.

Currently he is scheduled for an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and a PET CT Scan on 6/17 & 6/18. This will help the doctors determine the exact type of Lymphoma he has, seeing that there are over a hundred types. The hospital has informed us that the insurance won’t be covering a significant portion of these upcoming bills and that’s why we are here looking for any way we can help Alfredo. It is our hope to ease the financial stress so that Alfredo can focus on successful treatment with little outside concern as possible.

This journey for us has just begun and it’s already been a painful one for us all. The look on my father’s face when he was diagnosed was heartbreaking. I had only seen that sadness in his eyes one time before and that was 10 years ago when he was completely immobile from his right half of his body after suffering a stroke. He was able to recover from that and I know with the help of God and everyone he will make it through this too.

Alfredo is my dad, my role model, my best friend, my rock I lean on when I need help and I am looking to give back all that support he has been giving all of these years. I don’t just speak for myself; I speak on behalf of all the people who have let him become part of their lives. He is a father, a husband, a brother, a son, an uncle, a cousin, and forever a part of me that I am not ready to lose. He is also a healthcare worker, a radiology tech and day in day out he tries to help people. Help comes in many forms, whether it be financially, hope, or prayer. He is compassionate, sympathetic, motivational, and what may only be a few words to him may mean the world to the patients he speaks too. He is the type of person who would never ask for help, but always be the first to help others. He is simply a good man who is a bit unlucky in terms of health, but most will never truly know when he wears his smile with such joy even on his darkest days.

We are uncertain of what the total treatment cost will be, however they will be adding up quickly between hospital visits, treatments, and medications. Our goal is to reduce the financial burden, stress, and fear so that he can focus on his health and wellbeing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any action of support you can provide. We truly believe that things turn out the best for the people who make the best of the way things are and that’s why I won’t let my Dads smile fade away.
