In Honor of Alfredo Rios jr

Our beloved Alfredo Rios passed on November 26, 2021. He was a mama’s boy, a loving husband, an amazing father, a protective brother, and a friend to many.  Alfredo fought like a true warrior for 76 days, but simply succumbed to Covid related complications. Alfredo is survived by his loving parents, Alfredo and Bertha; his wife, Imelda; his sons Gabriel and Alfredo; and his sisters Angelica and Sandra. His loved ones extend beyond his immediate family as Alfredo was adored and respected by many.

In his recent years, Alfredo was an Automotive Collision Repair Instructor at the College of Lake County Campus. Teaching, coaching, and mentoring came so naturally to him and this allowed him to invest in the Collision Repair Industry he so loved and grew up in.

We will miss his contagious laugh and noble heart. Please consider helping his loved ones as they navigate through this difficult time. No words could truly describe what a great person Alfredo was. To truly understand his loving and caring spirit - please read his story on how he touched everyone around him:

Sentiment from a student:  "It's with a broken heart I write this today, my amazing and hands down one of the best automotive teachers out there Mr. Fredo has passed away today and although I don't have any photos with him, I just wanted to take a moment to thank him for everything he did for me and how much he believed in me. Without him I wouldn't be the person I am today and without him I wouldn't have the knowledge or the the confidence I have painting cars and welding. When i was short on cash and couldn't get the welding jacket and welding mask in time for class to start, one day I was early (I usually was just getting off of work and going straight to class) he took his lunch break to go buy me the welding jacket and covered for the mask. Then when I got paid and had the money I tried to give it to him and he said no it's okay save that for you. So i did save that money and later on in the semester one of your old friends was selling a paint gun and you had him save it for me so i could buy my very first pain gun to add to my tools. You believed in me like no other teachers did for most of my life, so much so that you made me believe in myself and I ended up placing second in state at skills USA. I just wanted to say thank you Mr. Fredo, I couldn't have asked for a better, more patient, and more caring automotive teacher. Thank you for everything you will be missed dearly. RIP Mr. Fredo sending prayers and love to your family."
