Queremos compartir la inspiradora y valiente historia de Alfredo, nuestro guerrero de 40 años, quien hoy enfrenta un nuevo y devastador reto: un Leiomiosarcoma, diagnosticado en octubre de 2023.

Alfredo no es ajeno a la lucha contra el cáncer. A los 3 años, su vida dio un giro inesperado cuando fue diagnosticado con leucemia. En aquel entonces, nuestra familia no podía entender cómo ni por qué. Pero Alfredo, con su espíritu incansable, enfrentó años de tratamientos. A los 6 años, después de una recaída, se sometió a un trasplante de médula ósea, una intervención que, gracias a la ciencia y a la gracia de Dios, fue un éxito. Así, Alfredo pudo vivir más de 33 años llenos de salud, sueños y aventuras.

Se formó como Artista Plástico en Venezuela y emigró a Chicago para continuar su formación. Como muchos jóvenes venezolanos, dejó su hogar en busca de nuevas oportunidades y comenzó a construir su vida en los Estados Unidos. Con esfuerzo y determinación, comenzó a trabajar y a abrazar su versión del “sueño americano”. Sin embargo, justo cuando todo parecía estar en su lugar, el cáncer volvió a aparecer, alterando completamente su vida.

En febrero de 2024, Alfredo se sometió a una cirugía de alto riesgo para extirpar un tumor que invadía varios órganos. Esta cirugía fue solo el comienzo de su nueva batalla. Alfredo, quien es un querido maestro de arte en una escuela de primaria en Dallas, Texas, tuvo que dejar de lado su pasión y su trabajo debido a su delicada salud. Sus estudiantes lo adoran, y su mayor motivación era poder regresar a las aulas en agosto 2024, lo cual se convirtió en su mejor terapia.

Pero el camino ha sido duro. Aún recuperándose de la cirugía, Alfredo fue diagnosticado con un nuevo tumor en su columna vertebral, lo que ha complicado aún más su situación. Este tumor ha afectado los nervios, causando la pérdida total de movilidad en sus piernas y generando complicaciones médicas adicionales que requieren atención especializada urgente.

A pesar de todo, Alfredo sigue luchando con esperanza. Aunque no existe una cura definitiva para su tipo de cancer, nuestro objetivo es mejorar su calidad de vida y aliviar su dolor en la medida de lo posible. En los próximos meses, enfrentará más cirugías y tratamientos médicos cruciales para su bienestar.

Lamentablemente, algunos de estos tratamientos no están cubiertos por su seguro médico. Por eso, con el corazón en la mano, recurrimos a ti. Estamos recaudando fondos para cubrir sus próximas cirugías, tratamientos y gastos médicos que su condición requiere.

We want to share the inspiring and courageous story of Alfredo, our warrior at 40 years old, who is currently facing a new and devastating challenge: a Leiomyosarcoma, diagnosed in October 2023.

Alfredo is no stranger to battling cancer. At just 3 years old, his life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with leukemia. At the time, our family couldn’t understand how or why this could happen. But Alfredo, with his relentless spirit, endured years of treatments. At 6 years old, after a relapse, he underwent a bone marrow transplant—an intervention that, thanks to the miracle of science and the grace of God, was successful. This allowed Alfredo to live over 33 years of health, dreams, and adventures.

He pursued his passion for the arts, becoming a talented artist in Venezuela, and later moved to Chicago to continue his education. Like many young Venezuelans, he left home seeking new opportunities and started building his life in the United States. With hard work and determination, Alfredo began to thrive, finally embracing the American Dream. However, just when everything seemed to be falling into place, cancer reappeared, upending his life once again.

In February 2024, Alfredo underwent a high-risk surgery to remove a massive tumor that had invaded multiple organs. This surgery was just the beginning of his new battle. Alfredo, a beloved elementary school art teacher in Dallas, Texas, had to put aside his passion for teaching due to his health. His students adore him, and the hope of returning to the classroom in August 2024 became his greatest motivation and therapy.

But the journey has been incredibly challenging. While still recovering from the surgery, Alfredo was diagnosed with another tumor on his spine, which has further complicated his situation. This tumor has affected his nerves, causing complete loss of mobility in both legs, along with other serious medical complications that require urgent specialized care.

Despite all of this, Alfredo continues to fight with hope. Although there is no definitive cure for his type of sarcoma, our goal is to improve his quality of life and alleviate his pain as much as possible. In the coming months, he will face more surgeries and critical medical treatments necessary for his well-being.

Unfortunately, some of these treatments are not covered by his health insurance. This is why, with heavy hearts, we turn to you. We are raising funds to cover his upcoming surgeries, treatments, and other medical expenses related to his condition.
