Alfredo Dominguez

This is Alfredo Dominguez, and for the past year he has been living a nightmare.

Alfredo was a healthy 37 year old father, husband, son and brother to Karina - our dear friend and stylist of Prep Tulum.

But after a routine surgery to treat appendicitis, he has been left fighting for his life for more than six months. Due to surgery malpractice, he developed a serious infection which lead to gangrene in his small and large intestines. Both of which have now been partially removed to stop the spread of infection and must use a colostomy bag.

Now, Alfredo’s small hometown hospital in Tabasco can’t keep him or care for him anymore so the family is trying to move him to a better hospital 18 hours away in Mexico City. He is currently in home and requires a machine to supply him with daily meals through intravenous food bags. Because of his condition, he can’t walk, and is now suffering from epileptic attacks and dementia, so his family is also faced with hiring a private nurse to care for him and monitor his needs. All of these things are very costly.

Health care in Mexico is not like ours here in Canada. We ask you if you can, to to please help Karina’s brother and his family. Any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in his recovery.
