Alfredo B. Calpito Jr.’s Memorial Fund

Donation protected

Alfredo B. Calpito was a loving father and husband who was taken from his family too soon. On July 31st, he passed away suddenly. Leaving behind his wife and two young daughters.

He was a strong, generous and joyful man who cared for others and always wanted the best for everyone he met. Alfredo always wanted to help people whenever he had the opportunity and facilities to do so.

Alfredo was a distinguished elite athlete, trailblazing for his family, joining the Filipino Olympic team in the 70s before going to start a new life with extended family in Honolulu, Hawaii 43 years ago.

He settled down in San Antonio, Texas and raised his children with his wife. He was a very proud father and loving husband.

He had an intense commitment to his family and friends and made many friends all around the world.

During his life, he changed the lives of many people, sharing his love for swimming and teaching many.

He was an unforgettable man who was an amazing storyteller, openly sharing his experiences with everyone with many stories to tell. His memory and life will continue through these stories, his two daughters, his wife, and his accomplishments for his country as an Olympian.

Everyone who knew him expected him to live a long and healthy life, so his passing has shocked many and has left his family with few resources to care for his remains.

In light of the sudden passing of Alfredo, his family would deeply appreciate any assistance to help with services and to celebrate his time here on Earth. Any funds received will be used to cover his funeral and cremation expenses in addition to aiding his family with any unforeseen costs relating to Alfredo during these trying times.

Anything helps the family and spirit of Alfredo because of this unforeseen tragedy. His eldest daughter, Abigail Lockhart-Calpito, is the organizer for this fundraiser and will coordinate the memorial service with his wife, Kimberly Lockhart-Calpito, and youngest daughter, Ariel Lockhart-Calpito. His family deeply appreciates any help offered so that they can give Alfredo a service that we would have loved, bringing together in both the virtual world and real life the friends and loved ones he cherished so dearly.
