Alfredito's Eye Surgery

Alfredito is my stepdad, but in many ways has been a real father to me. He lives in Northern Peru on the beach with my mom, where he spends his days reading, looking for shells and rocks, and painting.

About a month ago, Alfredito's eyesight suddenly began to deteriorate. He can no longer practice the things he loves, even in the beach paradise. Luckily, the prognosis is reversible but he needs eye surgery as soon as possible.

The longer we wait, the worse his eyes will get, so we are trying to help my mom with the money for the surgery to get Alfredito the help he needs so he can continue doing the things he loves.

Alfredito has been a father not only to me, but to my wife and my friends--their home in Northern Peru has been an oasis to so many traveling archaeologists, a brief respite from the harsh field environment.
