Alfred Waterhouse - An Architecture Lovers Guide

Hi, I am a prolific author of over 40 books in architecture, local history, Victorian parks, the Royal parks and have written biographies on Christopher Wren, Grinling Gibbons and Decimus Burton. I have been lucky to work with a number of publishers over many years.
I have now been commissioned to write a book on one of our most influential architects - Alfred Waterhouse. Born in 1830, he was prolific and designed buildings in mainly Gothic Revival. There are few towns and cities that have not had buildings designed by Waterhouse. His most famous buildings though are the Natural History Museum, London; Manchester Town Hall; Strangeways Prison, Manchester; and many civic buildings across the country. Yet, hardly a publication exists on him, apart from a book in 1992, no longer in print and expensive to find. Pen & Sword have agreed to publish the book, 40,000 words and 150 images. But historic images come at a cost, purchasing and copyright. I am therefore seeking funding towards the purchase of historic images and obtaining copyright. These vary from £30 to £100 per image, depending on the source. Waterhouse's story deserves to be told and his buildings celebrated.
You will be fully acknowledged in the book which is published by a major publisher and will be available nationwide. These books last forever, and your name is in there forever. Seeing your name in print is a wonderful feeling and this being the most current book on this very famous architect, it will do incredibly well. Your donation, no matter how small is appreciated.
