Alfred Ugale's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On June 19, Alfred was admitted to San Joaquin Hospital in Stockton with vomiting, yellowed eyes and skin, and severe abdominal pain. Doctors diagnosed his condition as a failing liver but were unable to treat him due to the hospital's limited resources. Because of the urgency of his condition, he was transferred to the ICU unit of UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco the next day in order to get the proper care he still currently needs. After receiving medication and multiple blood transfusions, Alfred remains in the ICU as of Saturday, June 22 and will likely remain there for the foreseeable future until this life threatening condition can be resolved.

While at UCSF, Alfred has also experienced other related medical complications such as blood clots and kidney issues. Alfred's condition has now somewhat stabilized, but doctors say that his liver has not shown significant improvement and remains a strong candidate for a liver transplant should his condition remain the same or worsen. The mortality rate of someone in this condition without a transplant is 100%.

Alfred is the father of my wonderful niece and nephew, Kyle and Sofia, who are very much looking forward to having their father back home again. His loving girlfriend, Darlene, has remained by his bed since his first admittance to the hospital.

This ordeal has placed a very heavy burden on Alfred, as well as his family and close friends. The costs of his hospital stay and future procedures is not the family's immediate concern and simply want Alfred to be happy and healthy again. Please know your gracious donations will go toward Alfred's medical bills that are sure to be more than most of us would be able to afford.

On behalf of Alfred and his family, thank you for giving any amount you are able and know it will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to give, your prayers and well wishes are also welcomed. Thank you all for your love and support in this time of need.
