ALFRED MAURER MEMORIAL

Al Maurer was a well loved friend to all who knew him at Curry College.  He came to Curry in the fall of 1983 , bringing with him a contagious smile and laugh, a heart of gold, and a kindness not many people experience in a lifetime.  Not only did he bring all these wonderful qualities to our class, he also brought a sense of humbleness, self confidence, and struggle.  Al, had been dealt a tough hand , he had many physical challenges but that did not keep him from anything.  He helped out with the Curry College Basketball team and aquired many dear friends through that experience.   We all loved Al, and we are heartbroken and devastated by his passing.   For a guy who already had been dealt a tough hand, he was handed a tough fate.  We will miss him dearly and want to remember him always by building a memorial like the ones we have for other classmates we have lost in the Class  of 1987.   Planting a tree in his honor, along with a plaque and donating to his cause.   Doing this will cost a bit so this is going out to the Curry College Class of 87, 86,  to raise the funds necessary to buy a tree, have it planted and to purchase a plaque.   I hope you all will give what you can for Al's memory to be installed before our 30th year mark of our  graduation.
