Hello, my name is Kieren Duffin and I am raising funds/donations on behalf of my late Grandad, Alfie Duffin with the proceeds/donations going to Alfie's local Salvation Army Corps, S.A Mile Cross.
One way to celebrate a loved one's life is to ask family and friends to make a donation to The Salvation Army in lieu of flowers at Alfie's funeral service. Flowers may fade but a gift in memory can make a lasting difference.
Alfie was a key part in the Mile Cross Salvation Army Brass Band for many years and was a valued Salvationist of the Mile Cross Corps for his loyalty, kindness, dedication, compassion and boldness.
Alfie's big passion was helping young people. Alfie, along with Joan, his wife, started the S.A Mile Cross Youth Club which grew to over 60 children attending every week. Alfie alongside his wife would self fund this club with toys, music instruments, games and the general upkeep of the youth club. Alfie's passion for music led him to teach a vast number of young people, both within the Salvation Army and outside the Salvation Army. Many people to this very day attest to Alfie's influence on their life being their inspiration for taking up music. However, it was not just music teaching that impacted people, Alfie was a kind and supporting gentlemen who always encouraged people to be the very best that they could be and made them feel better about themselves by being in his presence.
Any donation is greatly appreciated by both Alfie's family and the Salvation Army.
My Grandad, Alfie, was promoted to glory on the 2nd June 2025 at the young age of 84.
