Hello this is my daughters Alexzandra‘s second time fighting against cancer. I am here to ask for any assistance for anything she might need in her journey. it will also be used for transportation, food while staying in the hospital, and for costs that might arise. This is Definitely some thing that we were shocked to hear and find out in any support is definitely appreciated. Thank you all for your help.
It all started back at the end of September. She would complain about leg pain and I would massage her and tell her everything was going to be all right. In the middle of October I took her into her pediatrician had an x-ray done they said everything was OK and cleared. She still continue to complain about leg pain so I finally took her into the Children’s Hospital and got her another x-ray. They came back and told me it was a fractured femur how she did that who knows. So she finally was wearing a brace and started to use a wheelchair for long distances to go to school. A lump started to form on the side of her leg near her knee and I started to be concerned. They told me it was something normal to have that they expected some swelling in order for the fracture to heal. She started having continuous pain and the lump started to get bigger and hard. So I try to get her in sooner to her orthopedic doctor and wasn’t able to. Finally she had her doctors appointment on December 3 and that’s when we found out that they were concerned about the lump on her leg. So I took her in to the Children’s Hospital and they did an MRI on her leg and came back to me saying they were thinking it was some type of cancer. So they biopsied her leg on December 6 and we went home for a little bit. They finally called me on December 8 and said that she had metastatic retinoblastoma. So now she will need lots of treatment to get rid of the tumor on the side of her leg. And she will also need a bone marrow transplant. So I know she’s a fighter she fought it when she first was born and she will fight it again.
